Experience the World of Fear the Dark

Fear the Dark is a cluster-pays slot game featuring 6 reels and 6 rows, developed by Hacksaw. This game offers a chance to achieve up to 5,000 times your bet, with gameplay structured around unique bonus features and a dynamic grid system.

How to Play

  • Betting Options: Choose bet sizes ranging from £0.10 to £5, adjustable using on-screen arrows in the BET display.
  • Spin the Reels: Press the SPIN button or use the spacebar to begin each round.
  • Balance Information: Your current balance, bets, and winnings are always shown in the BALANCE area in your selected currency.

How Wins Are Formed

To win, land 5 or more matching symbols connected anywhere on the grid. Winning combinations can form in both the main game and throughout bonus features.

Each winning cluster is cleared from the grid, allowing new symbols to fall in. This process continues until no additional wins appear.

All wins for a spin are added together, with only the highest win paid per win way. Payouts are determined by the selected bet level, and detailed symbol payouts can be viewed in the game’s paytable. The RTP is displayed during play.

Game Features and Bonuses

Full Moon Mode

Activating the Full Moon feature occurs when the Moon Man scatter symbol appears. This mode introduces 2–5 symbol multipliers at the top of the grid, each linked to a specific high-paying symbol. Possible multiplier values are: 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x, 9x, 10x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x, and 100x.

  • When a symbol multiplier is active, it increases all wins for its corresponding symbol.
  • After wins are awarded, multipliers are removed one by one from left to right.
  • For each multiplier removal, all symbols of that type and all low-paying symbols are cleared and replaced with new symbols.
  • This process repeats until no multipliers remain, concluding the Full Moon mode.

Alone in the Dark Free Spins

The Alone in the Dark feature is triggered by landing 3 or more FS (Free Spins) scatter symbols during regular play:

  • 3 FS symbols award 10 free spins
  • 4 FS symbols award 15 free spins

During this feature, Moon Man symbols are more likely to appear. Additional FS symbols landed in free spins grant 4 more free spins.

Darkness Spins

In the free spins round, candles are lit around the grid. When all free spins are used, these candles are extinguished, activating the Darkness Spins mode. Each time you enter or reset this mode, you receive 2 extra spins.

  • Before each Darkness Spin, the grid size decreases by one symbol in each direction (first to 4x4, then to 2x2).
  • If you land a Full Moon feature or trigger additional free spins, the grid returns to its full 6x6 size for that spin, and the Darkness Spins reset.
  • The Darkness Spins mode concludes when neither Full Moon nor a free spin retrigger occurs.

Winning Limits

The highest possible win in Fear the Dark is 5,000 times your stake. If this limit is reached, the round concludes immediately, all remaining free spins or features are forfeited, and winnings are paid out.

Tracking Your Results

  • Free Spins Mode: During free spins, each spin’s winning amount appears in the WIN field. The running total for free spins is shown in the TOTAL WIN field along with the spins left.
  • Game History: You can view the results of completed games in the History section after closing the game.

Interrupted Play

If your game session is disrupted, you can resume interrupted rounds by reopening Fear the Dark. Any unfinished rounds will continue or be finalised in line with standard procedures.
