Getting Started with Rum and Raiders

Game Symbols and Crewmates

In Rum and Raiders, the reels are filled with symbols inspired by a pirate crew. The high-value symbols feature the Crewmates: Captain, Parrot, 1st Mate, Shooter, and Grog Boy. In the base game, these Crewmates serve as the highest rewarding symbols, and they play unique roles during bonus features.

How to Win

Winning combinations are formed by matching symbols across the 40 fixed paylines. Only the highest win on each payline is awarded. All wins and payouts follow the paytable, which can be referenced in-game for detailed information.

Wild Symbols

Wilds can appear on any reel during the base game. These symbols substitute for any paying symbol, helping to create winning combinations. Wilds also pay out at the same rate as the highest value symbol.

Scatters and Bonus Entry

Scatter symbols may land on any reel. Two Scatter symbols will trigger the Broadside Bonus, while three Scatters unlock the Hold and Win feature. When entering the Hold and Win bonus, Scatters transform into Flags.

The Broadside Bonus Experience

When the Broadside Bonus is triggered, the following sequence occurs:

  • Players start with 5 cannonballs.
  • For each round, the cannon fires 5 cannonballs, breaking open crates to reveal either chests with stake multipliers, Skull symbols, or additional cannonballs.
  • Finding extra cannonballs awards another round, adding 5 more cannon shots.
  • Revealing a Skull will double all chest multipliers at the end of the current round of firing.
  • If a reel is filled with symbols, a bonus 5-high reel will appear on the right side of the ship. This can occur again on the left side, with a maximum of two bonus reels active at the same time.
  • If every crate is destroyed, a 100x stake multiplier is added to total winnings and the Broadside Bonus ends.

Exploring Hold and Win

The Hold and Win feature starts with 3 spins. The 3 triggering Scatters transform into Flags that carry random multiplier values, and all other symbols are removed from the reels. Each time a Flag or a Crewmate lands, the spins reset to 3. If a reel is filled, a bonus 5-high reel is added to the right, and a second one can be added to the left when this happens again.

Each Crewmate symbol in this feature has its own special ability:

  • Captain: Enters with a multiplier value between 1 and 10. The Captain adds the total value of all new symbols on the screen to its own and then doubles the multiplier values of a random number of symbols, possibly acting on the same symbol more than once.
  • Parrot: Appears with a multiplier value between 1 and 10 and adds this amount to every other symbol in view.
  • 1st Mate: Arrives with a multiplier value between 1 and 10, and adds the sum of all other symbols’ values on the screen to its own.
  • Shooter: Starts with a value from 1 to 10, and doubles the multiplier value of a random number of symbols, possibly targeting the same symbol multiple times.
  • Grog Boy: Appears with a starting multiplier between 1 and 10 and brings 1 to 4 bottles of rum. Grog Boy then reactivates all previously used special symbol abilities (except other Grog Boys) that number of times.

If every position on the reels is filled during Hold and Win, a multiplier of 500x stake is added to total winnings and the feature concludes.

  • The maximum potential payout in Rum and Raiders is 25,000x your stake.
  • If the maximum potential payout is reached during the Broadside Bonus or Hold and Win, the feature will immediately end and the maximum payout will be awarded.
