Getting Started with Pile ‘Em Up

Pile ‘Em Up is an online slot game by Microgaming, featuring 5 reels and 20 fixed paylines. The objective is to spin the reels and land symbols in specific combinations. Winning combinations are highlighted, triggering a payout based on the type and number of symbols.

Understanding the Reels and Paylines

The game uses 5 reels and 3 rows, with 20 paylines always active. Paylines are set patterns running across the reels. Wins are achieved by matching symbols adjacently from left to right, starting on the first reel.

  • The number of paylines cannot be changed.
  • Only the highest win per payline is awarded, but wins on different paylines are added together.
  • The paytable shows the payout for each symbol combination based on your current bet.

How Payouts Work

All wins are based on the total bet per spin. Payline win payouts are calculated using the initial bet. The total payout for a spin is the sum of all wins across paylines and any coin symbol wins.

  • If multiple winning combinations land on a single payline, only the highest pays out.
  • Flower Free Spins symbols pay as scatters.

Wild Symbols for More Chances

Wild symbols appear during both the base game and the Free Spins feature. They can substitute for all symbols except the free spins, bonus, and 1UP symbols. Landing enough wild symbols in a payline also creates a winning combination on their own.

Exploring Special Features

Collect Feature

Coin symbols can appear on reels 1 to 4. When a Collect symbol lands on reel 5, all Coin symbols on the screen are counted, and their total value is multiplied by the Coin Booster feature. This feature is available in both the base game and the Flower Free Spins. Coin symbols have values ranging from 0.2x to 50x the total bet.

Coin Booster Feature

The Coin Booster multiplier applies to all coin symbols whenever it is triggered. It starts at 1x and increases each time a 1UP symbol lands, up to a maximum of 10x. The multiplier is shown in the Coin Booster display and is reset to 1x after being used. The multiplier is kept separately for each bet level and does not apply to standard payline wins.

The Coin Booster activates whenever a Collect symbol appears on reel 5 or, during the Heart Bonus feature, at the end of the round.

Flower Free Spins Feature

Landing 3 scattered Free Spins symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5 triggers the Flower Free Spins feature, starting with 9 free spins. The initial Coin Booster multiplier is carried over from the base game.

  • During the feature, if 2 Free Spins symbols land (on reels 1, 3 and 5), 3 extra free spins are awarded.
  • Landing 3 Free Spins symbols during the feature awards 9 extra free spins.
  • Coin symbols that appear are collected in the Coin Respin counter.
  • When no free spins remain, the Coin Respin feature is triggered, where only reel 5 is active.
  • If a Collect symbol lands during Coin Respin, the total collected is paid out, multiplied by the Coin Booster.
  • The Heart Bonus cannot be activated during this feature.
  • The bet and number of paylines remain the same as the spin that triggered the feature.

The feature ends after the Coin Respin has been played.

Heart Bonus Feature

This feature activates when a Bonus symbol is collected on all reels. Each collected symbol locks its reel, shown by a heart on the frame, and symbols can be gathered over several spins. The collection is stored per bet, and changing your bet resets collection; returning to a previous bet will resume collection from where it left off.

  • The Heart Bonus begins with 3 bonus spins.
  • Each coin symbol or 1UP symbol landed resets the spin counter.
  • Coin symbols remain locked in place until bonus spins end.
  • At the end of the feature, the sum of all collected coins is paid, multiplied by the Coin Booster.
  • If every position is filled with a coin, each coin gives a prize of 50x the bet, also multiplied by Coin Booster.
  • The feature ends when there are no spins left or the board is full of coins.
  • Flower Free Spins cannot start during Heart Bonus.
  • The feature uses the bet from the spin that activated it.

Other Important Information

  • If a malfunction occurs, all pays and plays are void.
