How Wins Work
Hula Balua uses a scatter pay system. Wins occur when 8 or more identical symbols appear scattered anywhere on the grid. Game Modes: Normal and Bonus Play
The game offers two main modes: the standard game and a Bonus game with free drops, which may be activated during play. Wild symbols help boost your chances by substituting for any regular paying symbol. If a win contains only Wild symbols, it pays out as the game’s top-paying symbol.
Symbols, Drops, and Multipliers
Each round starts with a symbol drop. Identical symbols that connect to form squares or rectangles merge to create larger “big symbols.” These big symbols generate multipliers, with the multiplier value matching the number of small symbols the big symbol represents. Big symbols can land at the beginning of a round and join winning combinations, adding their multiplier to a global multiplier. Once a win is paid, the winning symbols disappear, allowing new symbols to fall into their place. This cycle continues as long as new wins occur within the round.
Merging and Expanding Symbols
Big symbols can merge into even larger symbols if matching adjacent symbols are present. When merging happens, the global multiplier increases further. If a big symbol has empty cells below it, it replicates and fills those spaces with 1x1 symbols of the same type, maximising the win potential for that round.
Sticky Redrop Feature
During play, one paying symbol may be selected as “sticky,” affecting all matching symbols currently visible. When additional matching sticky or Wild symbols appear, you’ll receive extra redrops. If a new sticky redrop symbol lands, it is upgraded to the next highest-paying symbol. This feature repeats until the highest-paying symbol is chosen. Sticky redrop symbols can appear in sizes from 1x1 up to 6x6.
Elmo Wild Drops
Elmo, a character in the game, may trigger the Wild Drops feature by moving one column to the left and placing random Wild symbols onto the grid for each redrop. These Wilds stay on the reels until Elmo either leaves the leftmost column or participates in a winning combination.
Bonus Game: Free Drops Explained
Landing three or more Bonus symbols will trigger the free drops Bonus round. When Bonus symbols appear in a vertical line, they are upgraded to Super Bonus symbols, ensuring at least one big symbol in every redrop during the Bonus. Free drops are awarded as follows:
- 3 Bonus symbols: 6 free drops
- 4 Bonus symbols: 8 free drops
- 5 Bonus symbols: 10 free drops
- 6 Bonus symbols: 12 free drops
The Bonus game begins with a refreshed set of symbols and can be retriggered by collecting additional Bonus symbols, awarding further free drops.
Payouts and Win Limits
All winnings are paid out at the end of each completed game round. Hula Balua offers a maximum possible win of 25,000 times your placed bet. If this limit is reached during a round, the game ends automatically and payouts are made. Bets cannot be changed while a game round is ongoing.
