Getting Started with Chests of Cai Shen

Chests of Cai Shen is a 5-reel slot game from Pragmatic Play offering 25 paylines. Players can place bets starting from £0.25 up to £5.00 per spin.

Understanding the Game Rules

Wins are achieved by matching three, four, or five identical symbols on adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost reel. Only the highest win per line is paid, but wins on different paylines are combined for the total payout.

The wild symbol substitutes for all symbols except for the BONUS COIN and MONEY symbols, helping create more winning combinations.

Symbol Payout and Paylines

All symbols pay from left to right on consecutive reels. Each symbol has a set payout for combinations of three, four, or five. Wins multiply by the bet per line to calculate the prize.

Exploring Bonus Coin Symbols

During base gameplay, three types of BONUS COIN symbols may appear:

  • Green BONUS COIN: Collected in the green PROSPERITY chest. Collection may randomly activate the CHEST RESPIN feature with a chance to upgrade the value of up to three coins already on the reels after respins.
  • Red BONUS COIN: Collected in the red DOUBLE chest. Collection may randomly trigger the CHEST RESPIN feature, played on two separate 5x3 grids.
  • Purple BONUS COIN: Collected in the purple LONGEVITY chest. This may randomly start the CHEST RESPIN feature with one additional respin, up to a maximum of four respins. Each new MONEY symbol resets the respins to the maximum.

Collection of coins occurs after each spin. If the CHEST RESPIN feature is triggered, any combination of the three modifiers may be activated, and these will apply during the CHEST RESPIN round.

The Chest Respin Feature

  • The MONEY symbol appears only during the RESPIN feature and takes a value from: 0.6x, 0.8x, 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 8x, 10x, 12x, 14x, 16x, 20x, 30x the total bet, as well as MINI (10x), MINOR (20x), and MAJOR (150x) the total bet.
  • During RESPINS, standard symbols disappear, leaving only blank spaces and MONEY symbols.
  • The round begins with the BONUS COIN symbols from the base transforming into MONEY symbols and starts with three respins. Each time at least one MONEY symbol lands, the respins reset to three. The feature ends when no respins remain or the reel set is completely filled with MONEY symbols.
  • Green BONUS COIN: May increase the value of up to three MONEY symbols after a respin.
  • Red BONUS COIN: Triggers the CHEST RESPIN to play on two grids, each carrying the initial triggering values.
  • Purple BONUS COIN: Starts with four respins and resets to four whenever a new MONEY symbol appears.
  • If every reel space is filled with MONEY symbols, the GRAND prize of 5000x the total bet is won.
  • At the end of the feature, the total value of all MONEY symbols is awarded to the player.

Max Win and Limits

The maximum possible win in Chests of Cai Shen is capped at 10,000x the bet. If this limit is reached during any CHEST RESPIN feature, the round ends immediately and the winnings are paid out.

Game Volatility and Additional Information

Chests of Cai Shen has high volatility. All wins are calculated by multiplying the win values by the bet per line. The highest win per line pays, but prizes from different paylines are added together. The total win from a respin is the sum of all MONEY symbol values collected during that feature.
